2010 National Election Results

Yesterday was a great day for Republican candidates. Across the country the GOP wave, though not the tsunami that some had expected, did materialize giving the GOP control of the U.S. House, a large majority in governorships, a flip in control of ten or more state legislatures, and a much larger voice in the U.S. Senate.

There weren't many surprises in the House races yesterday. My prediction of a net gain of 60 seats in the House of Representatives held true with the latest results showing a 61 seat gain for the GOP.

For the U.S. Senate there were a couple of surprises such as the Senate races in Nevada and West Virgina. I had predicted a net gain of 8-9 seats for the GOP. The results as of right now show a gain of 6 seats for the GOP with the two races in Colorado and here in Washington State still too close to call. We should have a good idea by the end of the day today whether the GOP hits the 8 seats that I had predicted.

All in all it is safe to say that president's party took a beating yesterday. Americans sent a strong message to our president that his two year experiment in growing the federal government and the national debt is over.
