Samuel Adams once described America as "The Last Asylum" for the world's oppressed seeking political and economic refuge. It seems now that the political and economic freedoms that have attracted so many, are now slipping away from us. I watch with frustration as so many Americans voluntarily abandon their freedoms in exchange for a false utopia promised by government at all levels. I, as a father, have a responsibility to speak up in defense of these freedoms before they are no longer available for me, my children, and my future grandchildren.
My interest in politics, government, and current events began as a child when I was strangely interested in watching the news. It followed me into high school where I developed a deep interest in the U.S. Constitution and then into college where I earned a degree in Political Science. Now, as a husband and father of two young children, my interest in government and politics has transitioned from something academic into something far more personal.
As you will see my views are written from the perspective of one who believes in limited government, the free enterprise system, and personal responsibility. Though I have historically voted Republican, I have become more and more disillusioned with the GOP in recent years as it has moved further and further away from its roots. If I had to label myself I think the best label is small "L" libertarian conservative or even a liberal in the classical sense.
As you read my posts you will also see that I am not one to use a mountain of statistics to prove my point and will rarely engage in a debate about statistics. My posts will be written from my gut and from a long-developed view on the proper role of government.
