GOP and Democratic Fundraising

I was reading an article today that discussed how the GOP took in nearly $6.7 million last month and has no debt. In contrast the Democrats took in nearly $7.57 million dollars (including $2 million from the Obama campaign) and they have $6.9 million dollars in debt. I find this contrast to be very interesting because of the way it reflects on the actual governing philosophies of each party.

Though the GOP has not yet redeemed itself for the massive amount of spending it allowed under G.W. Bush, this report does give me some hope that they are trying again to become the party of fiscal responsibility. I will be watching to see if the current fiscal responsibility seen at RNC is passed on to candidates in the 2010 elections.

What I find more telling though is how money management at the DNC reflects exactly how their representatives in the White House and in Congress are currently governing. They clearly are OK with spending their party into debt, so why not the country.
